Pam Hogg LFW 2012

I got the priviledge of attending Pam Hogg's show and after party at LFW 2012; along with the likes of Paul Simonon, Kate Nash, Alexandra Burke and a personal favourite of mine the amazing hat designer Steven Jones. The experience was amazing. It was like walking into a world completely different to a normal day at art college. My vintage versace dress and beautiful red velvet boots may have turned a few heads as i walked across convent garden, but the scene in the catwalk arena was completely different. The audience was a catwalk in itself.

Pam Hogg's collection was extraordinary... with futuristic jumpsuits juxtaposed by victorian headresses.  It seemed to have a 'queen of hearts' feel to it.... well i certainly felt like alice... fallen down a hole into another world.

'Lost in Lace'

Birmingham's Gas Hall museum exhibits a collection of work from UK and international artists who have used lace to influence their work. Yet it isn't only looking at the traditional form of lace, with the beautiful and intricate pattern, but exploring other aspects inspired by lace. The exhibition is showing from the 29 October 2011 to 19 February 2012.

Each artist has explored lace differently; here are a few of my favourites...

Annie Bascoul
Jardin de lit, lit de jardin.

Chiharu Shiota
After the dream
"I am more interested in the lines which are often represented in my work, through black string"
This piece of work is perhaps my favourite due to the mystery and story attached.

Tamar Frank
A thin line between space and matter
"the pattern is defined by the space in between the threads; the emptiness."

 Suzumi Noda
Juxtaposition
"Lace is to make holes, holes which allow the wind to pass through, such that thinking and feeling become more flexible"

YAYER

Yayer... the online store that took vintage to the next level. Harriet and Charlotte are two sisters with a fresh outlook on the new vintage trend. The combination of modern clothing with vintage gives the site a raw quality; altering the traditional view and interpretation of the vintage style... Yet... I am lucky enough to get an inside view. Modelling at Yayer is amazing... so much energy and ideas. Anyway... it’s a must!!  www.yayer.co.uk

Here's some of my favourite outfits from the site...
